Dual-Path Beat Tracking: Combining Temporal Convolutional Networks and Transformers in Parallel

This study combined TCN and Roformer parallelu, to introduce inductive bias in the transformer model and improve the predictions while also reducing the parameters, the number of layers of transformer and associated parameters could be used as TCN is lightweight and provides decent results independently.

Pine Wilt Disease Segmentation with Deep Metric Learning Species Classification for Early-Stage Disease and Potential False Positive Identification

This study introduces a method for Pine Wilt Disease detection using drone orthomapped images. YOLOv8 segments diseased areas, followed by cropping regions with context for classification via Deep Metric Learning. A ResNet50 model with semi-hard triplet loss generates embeddings, and a Random Forest classifier identifies tree species and reduces false positives, outperforming multi-class segmentation.
